Ngo and Gulikers Both Get There

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

On a {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, Khiem Ngo had his last 35,500 in from the big blind, David Gulikers had called from under the gun, and was now faced with a shove from the small blind for 119,500 total. Gulikers confirmed the amount, then tanked for a minute before making the call for the majority of his remaining stack.

Khiem Ngo: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
David Gulikers: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The small blind was ahead with top two, while Ngo had top pair and a backdoor flush draw, while Gulikers was open-ended. The small blind survived the {6-Diamonds} turn, but Ngo picked up a flush draw.

"God damn!" said the big blind after the {a-Diamonds} came on the river, completing both Ngo's flush and Gulikers' straight. The big blind hit the rail with a bad beat story, while Ngo scooped in the main pot and Gulikers took the hefty side pot.
