Break Time

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The final 53 players are off on a fifteen-minute break. When they return, they'll play down to 50 before bagging and tagging for the night.

Merritt Fills Up On Berry

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Rickie Merritt raised to 12,000 on the button, and Will Berry called in the big blind.

Merritt bet 10,000 on the {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, and Berry made the call.

The {6-Spades} hit the turn, and Merritt bet 15,000. Berry thought for a few moments, then called.

Merritt emptied the clip with a bet of 40,000 on the {4-Hearts} river, and Berry tanked for about ninety seconds before calling for almost half of his remaining stack. Merritt tabled {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a full house, and Berry mucked.

Marocha Wins Flip To Double

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Vishal Marocha got his last eight or so big blinds into the middle preflop from the button against Justin Jones, who was in the big blind.

Vishal Marocha: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Justin Jones: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came out {j-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} to give Marocha a set, leaving him in need of fading running outs to Broadway in order to stay alive. The turn {q-Diamonds} left Jones drawing dead, ensuring Marocha's double as the river {9-Clubs} came out to complete the runout.

Kehrees Making a Comeback

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jence Kelling limped in from under the gun and action folded around to Mark Kehrees, who went all in for 15,000. The big blind called, as did Kelling.

The flop came {10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and the big blind checked. Kelling announced he was all in, effectively putting the big blind to a decision for his tournament life. He eventually folded, showing {a-Diamonds} as he did.

Jence Kelling: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Mark Kehrees: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Kehrees had flopped top two pair but Kelling had a flush draw and gutshot straight draw, giving him a dozen immediate outs. The turn {4-Diamonds} and river {9-Clubs} were not enough, however, and Kehrees secured the triple.

Not long ago, Kehrees was down to 4,500 in chips and now finds himself back over 10 big blinds for the time being.

Vieth Surrenders Early

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ray Henson raised to 10,000 from under the gun, and was called by Matt Dalka next to act, as well as Mason Vieth in the big blind.

Action checked through the {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, and Vieth bet 12,000 when the {a-Hearts} fell on the turn. Both Henson and Dalka called.

The {2-Hearts} fell on the river, and Vieth simply mucked his hand. Henson and Dalka both checked, and Dalka won the hand with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, while a floor was called and Vieth was warned about folding with no action pending.

Nguyen Coolers His Way to a Dub

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Quan Donot Nguyen
Quan Donot Nguyen

Quan Donot Nguyen raised to 12,000 from hijack, and was called by the cutoff. The button three-bet to 37,000, and Nguyen four-bet shoved for 118,500. After the cutoff folded, the button tanked for a few minutes before committing calling chips.

"You got queens?" Nguyen asked his foe.

Quan Donot Nguyen: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Nguyen was happy to be wrong with his read, as the {q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop would've given queens a set. No king came on the {8-Spades} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river, and Nguyen scooped up a big double.

Greathouse Fires Two

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Bob Greathouse opened to 12,000 from early position and received a call from the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Greathouse saw the big blind check to him. He threw out a continuation-bet of 15,000 and was called.

The turn fell {3-Diamonds} and the big blind checked again. Greathouse fired a second barrel for 25,000 and the big blind quickly folded, resulting in the pot being sent his way.
