Quan Donot Nguyen in Day 1b action

A roar came over the tournament field as a hand that took place between Day 1b chip leader Quan Donot Nguyen and Mason Vieth took place.

According to Brian Lee, Vieth had told Nguyen he would call dark if Nguyen jammed in the dark when they were both in the blinds. Action folded to Nguyen, and he shoved for roughly 300,000, and Vieth, true to his word, called.

Nguyen held {10-}{7-} to Vieth's {10-}{2-}, and Nguyen held up to double back above 600,000, while the two shared a laugh at how they both held up their end of the gentleman's agreement to gamble and gamble hard.

Sample fired 20,000 on the turn {q-Hearts} and Bunch called. The river fell {10-Diamonds} and Sample counted out a bet of 50,000 and pushed it forward. Bunch folded.

Solano Wins One; Rand Over 800K

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kevin Rand opened to 18,000 from early position and was called by Brian Lee in middle position. Jesse Solano was in the cutoff and three-bet to 63,000, getting a fold from Rand. Lee called.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Lee checked. Solano bet 55,000 and Lee let his hand go.

On the next hand, Rand was seen scoring a knockout after cold-calling a player's three-bet shove for around 220,000.

Kevin Rand: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out clean and Rand finds himself over 800,000 as a result of the pot.

Steven McCartney bet 16,000 into a pot of 50,000 on a {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop from early position, and Katherine Offutt made the call in middle position.

McCartney slowed down and checked the {2-Hearts} turn, and Offutt bet 24,000. McCartney called.

Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} river, and Offutt tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker. McCartney mucked.

Garg Busted After Roller Coaster of a Hand

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Lokesh Garg
Lokesh Garg

Lokesh Garg, Andy Hobson, and Tim Gilliam were all three all-in preflop, with Garg in for 50,000 from middle position, Gilliam in for 61,000 from the small blind, and Hobson had both of them at risk from the hijack.

Lokesh Garg: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Tim Gilliam: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Andy Hobson: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Gilliam held on the {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} flop, but the {a-Spades} turn gave both Garg and Hobson top pair, and also gave Garg the nut flush draw. Gilliam found lightning in a bottle when the {7-Diamonds} hit the river, however, and he took down the pot to nearly triple up, while Garg was busted and Hobson was left short.
