Dauphinais Doubles Through Kedziora

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gael Dauphinais moved all-in for 20,000 from the hijack and John Kedziora called from the cutoff.

Dauphinais was at risk with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was flipping against Kedziora's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Kedziora remained in the lead with a pair of tens. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} to pair Dauphinais' queen. Kedziora called for a king but the {q-Spades} hit the river and Dauphinais doubled through.

"Nice runners" said Kedziora as he paid the bet.

'Oyster King' Blasts the Turn

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player in the hijack raised it up to 2,400 and got call from Armand 'Oyster King' King in the cutoff and the player in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} and both the small blind and the hijack checked. King wasted no time and fired out a bet of 22,500. The small blind thought about it but folded, as did the hijack.

King raked in the pot, and is in the field after a win in the $1,100 Red Shores event for $25,000! He took the event down after two hours of heads-up play and admitted it was a tough battle but he pulled through. King has had much success at Playground and is a staple here, so look for him to make some big moves today.

Cormier Catches on the River

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With about 7,000 in the pot, on a board reading {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} Jeff Cormier checked from the small blind, as did the player in the big blind and the player on the button.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Cormier led out for 3,500. The big blind thought for a full minute and eventually called. The player on the button quickly raised to 10,000 and Cormier called but the big blind folded.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Cormier checked. The button fiddled with his chips and eventually bet 6,500. Cormier seemed torn, but eventually called.

The button tabled {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair sevens and fours. Unfortunately for him, Cormier caught up on the river and tabled {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for two pair kings and fives to scoop up the pot.

Mina Mourad Doubles His Micro Stack

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

We got to the table as Mina Mourad was piling his stack of 10,600 in the middle on the button and was called by Elio Saade in late position.

Mourad was at risk with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} but was flipping against {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Saade began laughing, and waving the hand off after Mourad paired his queen. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} to give Saade a flush draw and the two players shared another laugh. "Put a diamond there" laughed Saade. The river was the {7-Clubs} and Mourad was safe.

Eight-High is the Nuts? Watt?

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With about 14,000 in the pot, on a board reading {5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, the players in the small and big blinds checked and the under-the-gun player bet 5,500. Andrew Watt called from late position and both the blinds folded.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the player under the gun checked. Watt bet 8,000 and his opponent called. The river was the {j-Clubs} and action was checked to Watt again. He bet 12,000 and his opponent tank-folded.

"It's nothing personal" said Watt as he showed {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a busted straight draw. His opponent laughed and said "I had eight-six." Watt smiled and replied, "So I had the nuts!"

"Yyyyyyyyessssss!": Oyster King Finds a Magical Turn to Double

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

We got to the action as a massive pot was brewing over on Table 58. In a four-bet pot with about 75,000 in the middle, on a board reading {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Yannick Harvey led out for 28,000 from the small blind. Armand 'Oyster King' King was on the button and re-raised to 80,900. Harvey thought for a moment and moved all-in. King had about 73,000 behind, and after a minute of reflection he called.

Armand King: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Yannick Harvey: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

King was way behind and admitted he knew it but couldn't fold.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and King yelled out, "Yyyyyesssss!" as he turned a set of queens. The river was the {2-Spades} and King held to win a massive pot worth over 270 big blinds. "I knew I was behind, but you have to hit those sometimes" said an enthused King.

Alyssa MacDonald was at the table and comforted a visibly disappointed Harvey. "I know it sucks, but you still have a lot of chips to play with. Just don't run bad, that's all." Sage words of encouragement and advice from the World Cup of Cards champion!
