Sofiane Boulila Leads 91 Into Day 2 of Event #24: $1,650 CPPT No-Limit Hold Em

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Sofiane Boulila
Sofiane Boulila

Sofiane Boulila ended Day 1b of the CPPT $1,650 No-Limit Hold em as the chip leader. He almost reached 500,000 and overtook Day 1a chip leader Jean Sebastien Dubois, who had 439,000.

The two players are the only players in the field that will start Day 2 with 400,000 and the next closest has 301,000. Boulila got the most all day out of suited connectors and one gappers in position. He scooped up a lot of his chips with small flushes and took some chances, getting all in on draws to win some bigger pots.

The players will return tomorrow and the final 36 will make the money. A min-cash is worth $3,200 and the first prize is $110,000. Play resumes at noon tomorrow. The blinds will start at level 15 (1,500/3,000 500 ante) and the levels will change from 45 to 60 minutes.

Tournament Leaderboard Update

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Charles La Boissonniere is off to a quick start with 65,000 chips. He is currently first on the Playground Poker World Cup of Cards leaderboard.

Here is a quick look at the top five on the leaderboard.

NameLeaderboard Points
Charles La Boissonniere1,350.70
Jason Conforti1,220.80
Joey Boczek1,200.90
Daniel Le929.1
Carrie Webster921.6

Behind La Boissonniere are Jason Conforti and Joey Boczek. All three players are in the field today. Conforti just sat down and is sitting with the starting stack and Boczek, who was here at the start is just above the starting stack with 32,000.

They are playing for a Leaderboard package worth $8,000 and Boczek has been hear many times declaring he would win. La Boissonniere has a solid lead, and unless Conforti or Boczek make a deep run in the upcoming events, La Boissonniere may already have a big enough lead to stay ahead just by entering the remaining tournaments.

Carrie Webster and Daniel Le have don't have enough available points to take the lead, so it's pretty much a three-person race.
