Tomas Larivee Magni finishes Day 2 on top and leads the final 11 into Day 3. Magni bagged 2,294,000 and is the only player entering the day with over 2,000,000. Each player is guaranteed to take home at least $8,100 and first place is worth $110,000. The $1,650 CPPT Main Event is Event #24 of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club has the largest first place prize of the tournament and the only one over $100,000.
Entering the day behind Magni, Brady Hinnegan, Laurence Louie, and Elie A are all over 1,000,000 and looking to catch and overtake Magni. Louie was the chip leader before Magni won a huge pot against, eventual 17th place finisher Paul Scott. Scott was defending in the big blind and check-raised Magni on a ten-high board. He fired the turn and the river and Magni called and ended up winning a 1-million chip pot to take the lead.
The Day 1 chip leaders both fell in Day 2. Sofiane Boulila, who came into today as the overall chip leader fell short and eventually busted 31st when he got all in with ace-high against Man Sze Chow, who had pocket aces. Jean Sebastien Dubois, who was the Day 1a leader, busted in 14th place. He got ace-jack all-in against pocket tens and lost to a full house.
The players restart tomorrow at noon. Playground Poker Club will award its biggest first place prize of the World Cup of Cards tomorrow when one of these 11 players takes down Event #24.

Paul Scott has been extremely aggressive as the field has gotten smaller. His aggression paid off and allowed him to be one of the bigger stacks when the tournament broke to two tables.
He just lost a big pot to Tomas Larivee Magni and now he was up against Brady Hinnegan in the small blind. According to the table, Scott opened in late position and Hinnegan three-bet from the small blind. Scott four-bet shoved and Hinnegan called with pocket aces. Scott had pocket fives and couldn't catch up.
Sofiane Boulila entered the day as the chip leader and has been eliminated by Man Sze Chow. He shoved from the hijack with and Chow shoved over the top with pocket aces.
The board ran out ten high and didn't bother giving Boulila even the slightest sweat. He took home $3,200 for his effort.

The penultimate day of Event #24: $1,650 Card Player Poker Tour World Cup of Cards kicks off at noon today inside Playground Poker Club. Of the 359 total entries, just 91 would survive their Day 1 flights to qualify for Day 2.
On the slate today, are nine 60-minute levels. Day 1b chip leader Sofiane Boulila will carry the overall lead into Day 2. Boulila bagged 494,500 to claim the top spot. Day 1a chip leader Jean Sebastien Dubois, will start the day not too far behind with 439,000. The two leaders are far ahead of their closest competitor. The next largest stack is that of Samuel Barre, sitting with 301,000.
A few notables in the field today include WPT National Montreal runner-up Jeffrey Cormier, Carter Swidler, Benoit Jean, Laurence Grondin, Samuel Chartier, and Ruben Perceval.
