Hands #32-37: Hellmuth Takes a Big Hit

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Hand #32: Steven Zhou raised to 10,000 from the button and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #33: Kurita Yu raised to 9,000 under the gun, Michael Tran defended the big blind, and then both players checked the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. When the {2-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Tran bet 12,000, Yu called, and the {3-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Tran bet again, this time 32,000, and Yu quickly folded.

Hand #34: Alex Antonios raised to 8,500 from the button, Yu called from the big blind, and the flop fell {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Yu check-called a bet of 11,500, and then check-folded to one of 26,500 on the {Q-Hearts} river.

Hand #35: Tran raised to 10,000 from the button but folded when Yu pushed back with a three-bet to 35,000 from the small blind.

Hand #36: Zhou limped the small blind and then folded when Hellmuth raised from the big.

Hand #37: Tran raised to 11,000 under the gun and then called when Hellmuth three-bet to 30,000 from the small blind. Hellmuth then bet 15,000 on the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Tran called, and the dealer burned and turned the {J-Diamonds}. Hellmuth wasted little time in betting 20,000, and Tran thought long and hard before raising to 60,000. Hellmuth snap-called and then checked the {J-Clubs} river.

Tran used two hands to slide out a bet of 62,000, and Hellmuth called.

"You're not gonna like this," Tran said before tabling the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} for quads. Hellmuth didn't show, but stated that he had a pocket pair smaller than the jacks.
