Pickering on the Rise

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

Dylan Wilkerson limped from under the gun and Jason Gray raised to 2,500 to see four players behind him call. On the {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} flop, Jamie Pickering bet 4,500 out of the small blind and only Brian Rast on the button made the call. They checked down the {10-Spades} on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Pickering turned over the {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {6-Hearts} and that was good enough to win the pot. Shortly after he knocked out the player in the very next seat by making a backdoor flush with {K-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades}.

Good for the Table Image

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

Nathan Pan and Jeff Madsen got involved in a preflop raise that saw the two of them head to the {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} flop. Pan bet 3,500 and Madsen raised to 8,900. After some consideration, Pan mucked his cards and Madsen showed him and the table the {6-Spades} {9-Spades}. Billy Argyros laughed out loudly and Pan flashed a grin while listening to the beats in his headphones.

Watson Surging

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

After two players limped, Jeff Madsen raise to 2,250 from the small blind. Mike Watson then three-bet to 7,750 from the big, both limpers folded, and Madsen called to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Madsen checked, Watson bet 9,000, and Madsen folded.

All players at Table 25 have agreed to show two cards whenever they win a hand, and Watson opted to show the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

That's a Good Card

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

On the heads-up flop of {A-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, Sam Ngai got his remaining stack of 16,425 all in with {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {4-Clubs} and was called by Aaron Lim one seat over with {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. The {7-Hearts} showed up on the turn and Ngai was delighted: "That's a good card," he said and the double up was guaranteed. The meaningless {J-Spades} on the river as final community card was of no influence anymore.

Duhamel Takes from Rast

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

We didn't catch the preflop action but until the {4-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} turn, there were about 8,000 in the pot. Brian Rast as initial raiser from under the gun threw in a yellow 5,000 chip and Jonathan Duhamel obliged. Both checked the {4-Spades} river and Rast announced a five, Duhamel had that beat with {J-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}.

"I Wanted You to Call"

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu opened the action from middle position and received a call from Bruno Kawauti. Antonio Esfandiari then called from the cutoff, Richard Johnston came along from the button, and Ismael Bojang popped it up with a three-bet to 6,500 from the small blind. Negreanu quickly called while the rest of the players got out of the way.

When the flop came down {q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Bojang bet pot (16,500) and Negreanu wasted little time in folding.

"I wanted you to call," Bojang admitted before showing the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for aces with the flush draw.
