Pickering with a Four-Bet

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Jamie Pickering opened for 800 from early position and Nick Wong called from the button. Zane Ly then three-bet to 2,200 from the small blind, Pickering four-bet to 6,800, and Wong got out of the way. Ly tanked for a bit before making the call and then checked the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop. Pickering tossed out 8,500, and Ly tank-folded.

Not much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their counts.

Madsen Spikes Double

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Jeff Madsen opened to 600 from middle position and Yu Kurita three-bet the button to 2,400. Once the blinds folded, Madsen deliberated for a few moments before dropping in the majority of his chips to amount to a four-bet of 11,600. Kurita pushed all in and Madsen made the call for his 12,500 total.

Kurita: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Madsen: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

With Madsen trailing, the {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop didn't connect with his holdings, but when the {Q-Spades} landed on the turn he took the lead.

The river landed the {6-Hearts} and the American doubled to over 25,000 as Kurita slipped to roughly 47,000 in chips.

Kempson Climbs

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Corey Kempson raised to 700 and got called by Brian Rast as well as the player in the small blind. On the {J-Clubs} {3-Spades} {Q-Clubs} flop everyone checked and Kempson then bet 1,300 on the {10-Clubs} turn. Both his opponents called and the {2-Diamonds} on the river saw Kempson fired 2,700 chips to win the pot without showdown, as Rast and the player in the small blind both folded.

"Both Check for Hearts?"

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player in late position raised to 650 and then called when Brendon Rubie raised to 1,500 from the cutoff.

"Both check for hearts?" Rubie asked his opponent when the flop came down {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. An affirmative was given and Rubie responded, "Ok... go."

Indeed, both players took a moment to recheck their hole cards, and then the late-position player check-called a bet of 1,500. He'd check-call another one of 3,400 on the {7-Clubs} turn before both players checked the {5-Diamonds} river. The late-position player revealed the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for jacks and fives, and it was good as Rubie sent his cards to the muck.

Rossiter Shoves on the Magician

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Jeff Rossiter opened for 750 under the gun and was met by a three-bet to 2,225 from Toan Nguyen in the cutoff. Antonio Esfandiari flatted from the button, the blinds both folded, and the flop came down {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Two checks put action on Esfandiari, and he fired out 2,700.

Rossiter paused for a moment before check-raising all in for 19,500, and that proved more than enough to get both Nguyen and Esfandiari to fold.

The Other Khoueis Finds a Double

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Suzy Khoueis' table recently broke and she found herself sharing a table with her brother Sam Khouiss.

Following a raise to 700 and a call, Khoueis raised all in for her last 1,675 with the initial raiser giving her some protection by making it 3,700 to force the player in the middle to fold.

Khoueis: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

With Khoueis packing her belongings, her brother Sam said, "Where you going? The ace is coming!"

The dealer spread a {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board to see Sam's premonition come true as Suzy doubled to 4,500 in chips.

Van Marcus

On a board of {6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} we found Van Marcus betting out 3,500 with Eddy Sabat making the call as the river landed the {J-Hearts}.
