Binder Takes the Chip Lead
Level 36
: Blinds 3,000,000/6,000,000, 6,000,000 ante
Bernhard Binder opened to 12,000,0000 with K♠J♣ in the cutoff, finding a call from Jean-Noel Thorel holding A♣9♥ in the small blind.
The dealer fanned out the 7♦K♦5♠ flop, and Thorel checked to Binder. After flopping top pair, Binder bet 9,000,000 and was called. Both players then checked the 6♠ turn.
Thorel checked again on the K♥ turn, and Binder fired a bet of 35,000,000 after improving to trips. Thorel took some time before sticking in the call.
Binder showed Thorel the bad news, collecting a big pot and taking over the chip lead.
