Woodward the Latest Shorty to Double Up

What's going on here today? Players on the short stack are seemingly invincible, no matter how slim they're drawing. Matt Woodward opened all in for 265,000 chips on a board of {8-Hearts} {9-Spades} {2-Hearts}. His only opponent was Chris Karagulleyan, who made a brave call with {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs}, top pair. Woodward turned over {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for middle pair, but promptly hit a second pair with the {6-Spades} turn, causing Karagulleyan to slam the table in frustration. The river blanked {K-Clubs} to allow Woodward to double up to roughly 600,000.
