Drawing to a Boat, Man

Ross Boatman
Ross Boatman
Annette Obrestad opened the pot with an early-position raise to 150, and seven people came along with the call.

The flop came out {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}, and the first five players checked, including Obrestad. Action was on Huck Seed, and he led out with a bet of 1,300. Ross Boatman made the call in the next seat as the rest of the table folded out of the way.

Heads up then, the turn revealed the {2-Hearts}. Seed checked this time, and Boatman flicked out one of the big pinkish-red T5,000 chips. Huckleberry gave him a good hard look before uncapping his cards and holding them near the muck, seemingly trying to convince himself that a fold was in order. Eventually, he mumbled, "I might have one out," and open-mucked his {3-Spades} {3-Clubs}.

A short conversation ensued, and both men seemed content with the result at the end of their chat. That pot moves Boatman up to about 22,000, slipping Seed back to 17,500.
