127 players return today, the plan is to play six levels or down to 54 players. Fabrice Tuil from Day 1A is our overall chip leader but the chasing pack includes WSOPE Bracelet winner Theo Jorgensen and EPT winner Arnaud Mattern.
The players have squeezed into their seats in much quicker fashion than on the Day 1's as the stakes increase both figuratively and literally.
The cards are about to go up in the air.
Level: 7
Blinds: 300/600
Ante: 75
Play has begun.
No early boon for Sorel Mizzi, he was all-in preflop with against Chuc Hoang's but a pesky on the flop sealed the in-form Canadian's doom.
Tyron Krost started the day with 43k and after just a few hands has upped it by a quarter thanks to David Lascar. The betting got big on the turn with the board and he put in a raise to what looked like 5,200 (when a bright pink 5k chip hits a pot it's impossible to miss); call. The river brought the and Lascar checked, Krost betting 6,500. Pretty quickly he was called but turned over the at which his opponent said, "Bravo," and shipped him the pot.
Paul Testud is back in the hunt after his outdid Jean-Louis Cap's on a board. The microstacked Testud is on his way back up...
Alexander Roumeliotis, who is the exact spitting image of fellow Swede Per Linde, just knocked out Rony Hailimi. The latter had put all his chips in on a flop with but the wily Swede was holding which hit the on the turn, rendering the river meaningless.
There is action all around as the 300/600 blind level really gets into its stride. Olivier Douce busts running into Kings preflop, Pierre Canali doubles to 40k through Paul Testud with which ended up making two pair on the river and left the veteran French player with just 7k. Ossama Chaar doesn't do so well with his however, racing preflop and missing all the way.
The early bustout rush has meant we've broken a table already which was immediately replaced with a cash game, as seems to happen seamlessly every day here.
