Action Stations

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} the preflop raiser didn’t waste much time and threw out a bet of 1,625. His opponent in this heads-up confrontation didn’t take much longer in throwing out a raise to 3,650.

The raise did the job and the chips went the way of the aggressor. A couple of other players shot him a grin as he collected the pot but there was little by way of response other than a slight shrug of the shoulders.

It looks like the action will be pretty frenetic in these early few levels with players looking to build a stack and gather some momentum where possible.

Applying Pressure

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On the turn of a board reading {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades} an older player in dark sunglasses bet 4,100 but was met with a check-raise to 12,025 from a young player with headphones. The player in the sunglasses seemed uncertain what to do, gripping his chips as if to push the rest of his stack over the line. With another look back at his cards he then opted to call the bet to see what developed on the river.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board and the player in the headphones moved all in for his remaining 13,000. It didn’t take too long for the other player to back down in the face of this bet. A brief discussion in French followed during which the winning player showed him the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Show One

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Three players went to a flop of {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. It was checked to the player on the button, wearing his sunglasses upside down, who threw out a bet of 700. The big blind quickly mucked but the original raiser didn’t seem convinced.

After a minute’s silence the sunglasses came off and a grin spread across the bettors face. He pretended to be ready to throw his cards in and when the fold finally came he showed the {10-Clubs} which was acknowledged with a nod.
