Steve Watts has been eliminated from the tournament. He won't be able to buy back in, it was his second time trying today.
Watts didn't have his day today, suffering several beats and set ups to constantly get knocked back down again after initially chipping up. This time, last years winner Alexey Rybin was the bogeyman.
Rybin opened to 1,200, and Watts made it 4,400 with . Rybin made the call, and the two saw a flop: .
With top pair top kicker, an over card, and back door straight- and flush-draws, Watts wasn't too scared to get his chips in the middle. Rybin with was up for that, and before you knew it both players had their stacks at risk, with Rybin having slightly more than Watts.
The on the turn gave Rybin his beloved straight, but it gave Watts a (better) flush draw. The river wasn't one of the hoped for clubs, instead the popped up and Watts met his Waterloo.
Forever! Well, at least till the next WPT that is. The 25 chips are no longer needed, and have been removed from play in the last break. It's just 100, 500, 1,000, and 5,000 chips right now.
We don't know what happened before the flop, we have no idea what happend on the flop, let alone the turn. We missed all the important details, but we did catch the river action in a hand between Albert Daher and Luca Mischitta.
Daher bet out 4,600 from the big blind on a board of . Mischitta made the call, but mucked as soon as he was shown .
From 160 players, with 41 re entries, just 100 players remain. There's 25 minutes left on the clock, not long before the floor will announce how many more hands to be played.
Yury Gulyy opened the cutoff, Gabriel Schaucash three bet from the small blind, Gulyy four bet to 10,500, Schaucash five bet to 25,000, Gulyy shoved for 51,800.
"You have aces? Kings no good? asked Schaucash. Gulyy did not reply.
The clock was called, and Schaucash eventually laid it down.
