Hunichen Takes from Little

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Chris Hunichen raised from early position and was called by Jonathan Little in the big blind. "BigHuni" fired on all three streets of a {4-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {3-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} board and Little check-called bets of 700, 1,450 and 4,000. Hunichen turned over {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} for a rivered pair of kings instead of the flush draw and that was good enough.

One hand later, Little knocked out short stack Vitek Pesta in the seat next to him with {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} versus {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} on a board of {6-Spades} {7-Spades} {10-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. Besta only had a few big blinds left after previously losing the majority of the stack with pocket nines against pocket kings.

Linde also Aboard

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

A few minutes ago, Dylan Linde has sat down on the table of Marvin Rettenmaier and found a partner for table talk in seat neighbor Stephen Chidwick.

Rettenmaier keeps steaming away and latest target to pick on was Frederic Bertolino. The {8-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {2-Hearts} river saw a bet of Bertolino for 1,625 and Rettenmaier avoided the showdown by raising to 5,525 and enforcing a fold from his opponent.

Piquette-Pocketing

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

There were two limps for 200 and Michael Telker raised to 1,250 in the cutoff. Out of the small blind, Jean-Philippe Piquette reraised to 2,800 and only Telker called. The Canadian checked the {9-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop and called a bet of Telker for 3,300. On the {K-Spades} turn both players checked and Piquette won the hand without showdown by betting the {7-Spades} river for 7,500.

Rettenmaier Knocks out Shorr

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Stephen Chidwick raised to 600 and got two callers in Shannon Shorr as well as Marvin Rettenmaier. On the {3-Spades} {2-Hearts} {A-Spades} flop, Rettenmaier check-raised from 900 to 2,400 and only Shorr called the reraise to his bet. On the {J-Clubs} turn, the German fired 4,325 out of the small blind and Shorr tossed in a T-5,000 chip.

With the {9-Hearts} on the river, Rettenmaier bet 30,000 to put his opponent all in and received a reluctant call from Shorr for his last 17,000 chips. The German showed {3-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} for a set of threes and Shorr's {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} was no good. "Good luck guys," he said to the rest of the table before leaving the tournament area.

Here comes Telker

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It may be a strange coincidence but Michael Telker indeed got the next double up to get above starting stack, just as mentioned in his previous hand. This time, he had the pocket kings and got it in preflop for 18,750 against the pocket sixes of Alexander Lakhov.

The {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} of Telker made a flush on the {J-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {6-Spades} {8-Spades} {5-Spades} board.

Fundaro Joins Stacked Table

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Georges Khoury raised the {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} turn from 1,400 to 4,000 and Joey Weissman gave up the pot. The Lebanese is chip leader on his table and Alexander Lakhov is not too far behind despite dropping some chips in a bluff attempt against Petr Jelinek. The Czech had raised with pocket deuces and Lakhov defended his big blind.

After a {6-} {5-} {4-} flop, the Russian had a gutshot straight draw, but Jelinek made the bottom straight with a {3-} on the turn. Lakhov bet 2,100 on the turn and 5,500 on the {A-} river with {Q-} {8-} for queen-high, Jelinek called both bets and scooped the pot.

Between Jelinek and Khoury, WPT champion Giacomo Fundaro has taken his seat now.

Jelinek in Recovery Mode

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

After losing almost half his stack within the first two levels of play, Petr Jelinek is now above starting stack. The biggest pot on his road to recovery came against fellow Czech Martin Staszko. Jelinek, who is a Supernova Elite on PokerStars, turned a straight against the former World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up.
