Day 5 Started

The 2015 partypoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship Final Table Starts Now!

It all comes down to this: After five days of poker in Montreal, Quebec, Canada a 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship winner will be crowned today.

Six players will enter the final table at the Playground Poker Club, but just one will leave with the $237,390 first-place prize, a customized Playground Poker WPT Championship Belt and Trophy and a seat in the WPT Season XIV World Championship that comes with it.

Play will begin just after 12 p.m. local time with Prince Edward Island native Trevor Delaney in the driver seat. Delaney will start the final with almost 3.2 million in chips, having already locked up enough prize money to more than double the $40,000-plus in live tournament earnings he's previously collected from a half a dozen Canadian-based events.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada's Sheraz Nasir is close with just shy of 2.7 million, having already bested the 10th-place finish he made at WPT Montreal back here at Playground this past November.

Toronto's Lu Zhang just missed a final table appearance at WPT Fallsview in Niagara Falls, Canada earlier this year and she's next with 2.5 million and a chance to become the first woman ever to win an open event on the WPT.

Delaney's pal and and Nova Scotia native Gary Lucci is next, bringing 1.25 million into the final, following up on a 57th-place finish at WPT Montreal this past November.

Penetanguishene, Ontario's Levi Stevens has already cashed three times in prelims here at the partypoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship including two final tables and is looking to bookend the series with a big score, coming in with 765,000.

And finally, a year after in which he dominated the WPT with a win at WPT Johannesburg and runner-up finishes at WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star and WPT Fallsview, Dylan Wilkerson will be looking to take advantage of his clear experience edge, coming in with 740,000.

The WPT is hosting a live stream of the action on a 30-minute delay featuring commentary from WPT Raw Deal host Tony Dunst and Canadian Pro Griffin Benger over on WPT.com.

However, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand providing up-to-the-minute live updates and videos throughout, so stay tuned for a snapshot off all the action right here.

In the meantime, check out the final table preview video with PokerNews' Caitlyn Howe:

In the first hand of play Dylan Wilkerson made it 70,000, Levi Stevens shipped it in having him barely covered and after Wilkerson called the race was on.

It was Stevens holding {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Wilkerson on {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and the flop fell {3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} giving Stevens the lead.

The {10-Hearts} turn and {K-Spades} river were no help for Wilkerson and they are down to five fast.

Lu Zhang
Lu Zhang

Lu Zhang has moved slightly ahead of Trevor Delaney for the lead now after taking a chunk out of Gary Lucci's stack and a few chips from Delaney.

Lucci made it 80,000 under the gun and Delaney and Zhang both called.

The flop fell {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and after a Zhang check, Lucci made it 150,000. Delaney folded and Zhang flatted.

The turn came the {2-Hearts} and Zhang took the lead, betting 150,000. Lucci gave up and Zhang is now just under three million, right there with Delaney.
