More Bustouts

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

That's Gross

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jeff Gross had been playing this event in relative anonymity, nursing a shorter stack for most of a day and a half.

All that's over now as Gross just doubled up to around average getting it in with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} against {4-}{4-} and holding on a {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades} board.

Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Eric Afriat's table is starting to fight back against his aggression and iit's not going well for the chip leader.

Afriat bet 9,500 into a 35,000-chip pot with the board reading {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. His heads-up opponent simply smooth called, but when the river brought the {2-Hearts}, a fourth heart, and Afriat fired out 25,000, his opponent played back at him, raising to 60,000.

Afriat took a moment to do it, but folded, asking to see his opponent's hand anyway. He showed {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, having turned a straight and rivered a flush.

Broke!

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The following players have all busted out:

Level: 16

Blinds: 2,000/4,000

Ante: 500

What? No Quads?

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Angelo Cusinato
Angelo Cusinato

Angelo Cusinato, who made quads an unbelievable four times on Day 1a to build a contending stack, is not faring quite as well today.

Moments ago he ran {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} into {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} preflop losing a classic cooler after a {3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs} run out.

Cusinato is now down to 50,000 and wondering where his heater went.

Siddiqui's Wild Ride

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Shaan Siddiqui
Shaan Siddiqui

Shaan Siddiqui had worked his way up to 85,000 on Day 1b when disaster struck late.

He got it in with top two against bottom set and the set held, knocking him down to a mere 8,000 in chips.

Que the comeback! Siddiqui got it in with sixes against big slick and held, then kept spinning it up until he was over and above 85,000 again.

The Montreal local then bagged a decent stack and came into the day with a lot of hope. Now he finds himself among the chip leaders after making the nut straight against one shorter stack with the bottom end this level.

He's up to 300,000 and and counting as the wild ride continues.
