12 Players Remain for Final Day of the partypoker WPT National Cyprus

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Majid Ejlal Noubarian in the lead, Amir Ali Etemad Saeid

The penultimate day of the 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour National Cyprus €2,000 Main Event saw 75 players from a field of 149 entries return to the tables of the Noah's Ark Deluxe Hotel & Spa. Late registration and reentry were still possible until the end of the third level of the day, and the overall participation would grow by another 23 entries.

With a prize pool of €300,312, the guarantee was achieved and 12 players are left competing for the first-place prize of €75,000. Leading the field into the final day is Majid Ejlal Noubarian from Iran with 896,000 in chips, who took down one of the side for events for €8,151 just a couple days ago.

Not far behind in the counts are Kemal Sevevi (805,000) and Atanas Kavrakov (667,000), while other notables to bag up chips included Jacques Torbey and Aykutalp Yilmaz. Marco Della Tommasina will be returning as shortest stack when play resumes at 1 p.m. local time, and the Italian has 20 big blinds at 4,000/8,000/1,000.

After the sixth level of play, the field was reduced to 22 participants. Sinem Melin and Chino Rheem were long gone by then after buying in again on Day 2, and other notables such as Sergey Rybachenko, Jan Bendik, [Removed:2], Dimitar Danchev, Manig Loeser, Igor Dubinsky, Miltiadis Kyriakides, and Kelly Kim also failed to make profit. Also of note, World Series of Poker bracelet winner Simeon Naydenov busted just shy of the money when his queen-high flush draw was no good versus Onur Unsal's ace-high flush draw.

Daniele Mazzia would be the last player to leave the tournament area empty-handed. The Italian pushed with the {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} and was called by Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi before the American folded to the all-in isolation of Atanas Kavrakov with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Mizrachi dominated most of the day and peeked at 880,000 before losing two huge pots in a row. The first one was a flip with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} against Sergey Minaev's {A-}{J-} and the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} of Kavrakov, and the second one a failed bluff. In the end, Mizrachi would lose a flip to Kavrakov and had to settle for 17th place worth €3,800.

Onur Unsal made a miracle comeback after reentering, falling to as low as one ante and spinning it up to an above-average stack with less than 30 players left before bowing out in 16th place. Barny Boatman flopped a flush with the {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} after defending his big blind only to run into the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} of Sevivi. Etemad Saeid and Ivan Luca busted just before the end of Level 18 to set the final 12 for tomorrow.

The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be right back here on Monday to cover all crucial action until a new WPT National champion is crowned, so stay tuned and get ready for an action-packed day of poker.

Ivan Luca Eliminated in 13th Place (€4,375)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

In a preflop all in situation between Ivan Luca and Grigorii Rodin, the Argentinian was the player at risk with around 100,000 chips remaining. Rodin had a stack of 119,000 and the weaker hand in {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} compared to the {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} of Luca, but got there on a board of {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs}.

Aykutalp Yilmaz min-raised to 16,000 from under the gun and called the all-in of Amir Ali Etemad Saeid for around 60,000 in chips with {A-Spades} {J-Spades}. The Iranian had pocket sixes and Yilmaz spiked both overcards on the flop to secure the knockout.

Barny Boatman Eliminated in 15th Place (€4,375)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Barny Boatman

Kemal Sevevi raised to 13,000 from the cutoff and was called by Barny Boatman in the big blind. Both players checked the {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} flop and Boatman check-raised from 17,000 top 72,000 after the {Q-Clubs} turn. Sevevi called and the Brit then jammed all in for less than 100,000 after a blank on the river.

Sevevi snap-called with {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for the nut flush and Boatman revealed the inferior {9-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for a big blind special that turned into a nightmare.

Onur Unsal Eliminated in 16th Place (€3,800)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Onur Unsal
Onur Unsal

Onur Unsal got his short stack in preflop with {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} and fellow short stack Aykutalp Yilmaz had him covered. Even worse, Yilmaz also showed the better hand in {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} and the board ran out {J-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}. Unsal made the second payout step after being down to as low as one ante throughout the day and below the chip counts of the secondary table can be found.

Michael Mizrachi Eliminated in 17th Place (€3,800)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Atanas Kavrakov raised to 13,000 and snap-called the three-bet shove of Michael Mizrachi for what looked like 65,000 with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. It was a flip against the {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} of the American and Kavrakov would emerge victorious on a board of {7-Clubs} {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {5-Spades}.

At the same time another huge hand happened on the third table, Erwann Pecheux three-bet shoved his short stack with pocket kings. Initial raiser Jack Torbay called from under the gun with ace-quen and hit the ace in order to knock out the Frenchman.

For his efforts, Pecheux collects €3,800 and will most likely jump straight into the next event.

Mizrachi Crippled in Consecutive Hands

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

After the previous three-way all in, Michael Mizrachi got involved in yet another massive pot. He called a raise to 10,500 by Carl Maertzen and the player in the big blind called as well. Maertzen then made a continuation bet of 14,000 on the {5-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Spades} flop and only Mizrachi called.

On the {4-Diamonds} turn, Maertzen made it 31,000 to go and "The Grinder" didn't go anywhere, tossed in the chips. With the {3-Diamonds} river as final card, F.S. bet 76,000 and Mizrachi moved all in. Since a backdoor flush seemed unlikely, the Austrian called for over 200,000 with {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} and the American had to show {9-} {10-} for a busted gutshot ...

Sergey Minaev Eliminated in 19th Place (€3,600)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Sergey Minaev
Sergey Minaev

Sergey Minaev was all in preflop after a raise and Michael Mizrachi isolated but Atanas Kavrakov didn't go anywhere, putting himself also at risk for 232,500. Mizrachi had the biggest stack but Minaev's {A-} {J-} already took away one of his outs, as the American had {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and Kavrakov flipped with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {4-Spades} {A-Clubs} to put a dent into Mizrachi's stack and eliminate Minaev in 19th place.

Alper Kostem Eliminated in 20th Place (€3,600)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Alper Kostem
Alper Kostem

Alper Kostem raised to 11,000 and got called by Vasili Kostem to see the flop of {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. A continuation bet of Kostem was called because they both got it in after a raising war on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Kostem held {A-Spades} {K-Spades} and Kesnin turned over {K-} {Q-} for the weaker kicker but additional gutshot straight draw.

It wasn't one of the four tens in the deck but a queen on the river that sent Kostem to the rail in 20th place for €3,600.
