After two starting days with 149 entries in total, almost exactly half of the field remains as 75 players will be returning to the tables for Day 2 of the €1,800+200 World Poker Tour National Cyprus. The late registration at the Noah's Ark Deluxe Hotel & Spa remains open until the end of level 12 and the action resumes at 13:00 local time (12:00 CET) with level 10 at blinds 500-1,000 and a running ante of 100.
Furthermore, all participants can also still take advantage of a single re-entry until the end of level 12, which would provide a fresh stack of 30,000 chips at blinds 800-1,600 / ante 200.
Yesterday's Day 1b had less runners than Day 1a and thus it comes as no surprise that Sergey Minaev remains in the overall lead with his astonishing 193,300 chips. Season 11 EPT Prague finalist Miltiadis Kyriakides accumulated 159,600, which is good for second place overall.
Dimitar Yosifov follows in third place with 157,100 and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (138,900) as well as Ara Melkistian (132,200) are the biggest stacks at the start. The level duration increases to 60 minutes for Day 2 as well as the final, leaving more room to make some moves or grind out a short stack to ensure a portion of the guaranteed €300,000 prize pool.
The current top 10 are as follows:
Place | Player | Chips |
---|---|---|
1 | Sergey Minaev | 193,300 |
2 | Miltiadis Kyriakides | 159,600 |

The PokerNews live reporting is all set up for another interesting day on the felt and will bring you the most important key hands on the way to crown yet another WPT National champion on Monday.
Especially for Cyprus it is rather surprising that the vast majority of players already found their way into the poker room. Most bags are opened and the button will be in seat five.

A maximum of 10 levels of 60 minutes each will be played today and there will be a 45-minute dinner break after the end of the sixth level of Day 2, which is level 15. Every two levels there is a break of 15 minutes.

Erwann Pecheux just arrived and was not done with stacking his chips yet when he defended his big blind against a raise of Stanislav Galatenko. On the flop, the Frenchman check-called a continuation bet of 2,000 and then bet the turn for 3,000. Galatenko called and faced a bet of 6,000 by Pecheux on the river.
Galatenko raised it up to 21,300 and Pecheux snap-folded.
One player has bought in before the start to increase the field size to 150 entries.
