Bellamy Bets Big

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Fraser Bellamy was first to act and he raised to 175,000. Only Craig McCorkell, on the button, called so it was heads-up to the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{K-Hearts} flop.

Bellamy continued with a 215,000 bet and McCorkell called it. Both players checked the {8-Spades} turn, but on the {10-Hearts} river, Bellamy pushed two yellow stacks, with two pink chips topping them, forwards, worth a combined 1.2 million.

McCorkell quickly folded and Bellamy won the pot.

Russell Betts Eliminated in 5th Place (£50,000)

Russell Betts

Russell Betts' tournament is over, his superb run coming to an end in fifth place, a finish worth £50,000.

Betts raised to 160,000 from the button, Fraser Bellamy called in the small blind and Craig McCorkell put in the extra chips from the big blind. An all-heart {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} fop saw all three players check.

Bellamy led for 275,000 and both McCorkell and Betts called on the {9-Clubs} turn before Bellamy checked the {2-Clubs} river. MCorkell pushed a bet of 760,000 across the line and Betts called; Bellamy folded.

Betts flipped over {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a straight, but McCorkell had flopped a flush with his {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. A quick count of the stacks confirmed Betts had bust and only four players remain in contention for the £200,000 first place prize.

Top Pair's Good For McCorkell

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Craig McCorkell checked from the big blind on an {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop then called when Russell Betts made it 175,000 to play from the button.

The {7-Clubs} turn saw similar action with McCorkell check-calling a 275,000 bet from his opponent. McCorkell checked for a third time on the {6-Hearts} river, and Betts checked behind.

McCorkell showed {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and Betts mucked.
