Marcel Luske has to reenter on Day 1b if he wants to add the 2015 WPT UK Main Event title to his already impressive list of poker accomplishments. The Flying Dutchman came unstuck when his ran into of Richard Gryko with the chip going in on the turn of the board. No full house on the river for Luske and he bust.
Harry Lodge and Richard Gryko have just clashed in what could have been a monster pot after Gryko put his opponent to the test for his entire stack.
A preflop war had broken out that saw Gryko with 1,925 in front of him from the hijack and Lodge had raised to 5,000. Gryko then made it 9,350 to go and Lodge called. The delaer spread the flop, Gryko pushed all-in and Lodge instantly folded.
Two players just chopped a pot after both improving to a Wheel straight. Mats Rosen opened the betting to 700 from middle position, James Akenhead called in the hijack and Paul Ephremsen called in the big blind.
The flop was checked to Rosen who bet 1,200 and was called by both of his opponents.
Ephremsen led for 1,500 on the turn, Rosen raised to 4,500, Akenhead called and so did Ephremsen.
All three players checked the river, Ephremsen showed for a straight, Rosen the for the same straight and Akenhead mucked.
Earlier today, Chris Gordon bust when his ace-king lost to the ace-king of Peter Wigglesworth when the board four flushed.
The same almost happened to Julien Rouxel who got his chips into the middle with ace-king versus Tamer Kamel's . A heart on the flop and the turn gave Rouxel a sweat but a diamond not a heart on the river saw the pot chopped.
Asif Raja raised to 600 from early position and four players called. On the flop, the action checked to Raja who bet 1,600 and received three callers.
The fell on the turn and everyone checked to Paul Jackson who bet 2,100, a bet that only Jonathan Slater called. The completed the board, Jackson bet 2,100 and Slater called, showing for a flush, besting the of Jackson.
Paul "The Rock" Romain opened to 450 from early position and found callers in Shane Hellyer (small blind) and Colin Rogan (big blind).
Hellyer checked the flop, as did Rogan, although the latter called when Romain continued with a 550 bet. That was the last of the betting as both players checked down the turn and river, Romain's being superior to the of Rogan.
