Sgorrano Can't Win em All

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

During the break, Jerome Sgorrano walked past the media desk and told us about the last level. First the Belgian lost a pot with {A-} {K-} against pocket jacks and then completed out of the big blind after a raise and three callers. On a {J-} {10-} {6-} flop, Sgorrano bet 2,800 and was called by two opponents before a king appeared on the turn.

Sgorrano made it another 5,500 to go and one sole opponent called to see another six on the river. The Belgian checked with {J-} {10-} and his opponent checked behind, scooping the pot with {K-} {Q-}.

Battle of the PMU Qualifiers Sends Rodier Packing

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

In the very last hand before the break, Nicolas Rodier and Jean Christophe Fechter saw a four-way flop of {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs}. Rodier bet 2,500 and Fechter raised to 10,000, scaring off the other two players in the hand. Rodier moved all in and was called to see his {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts} in dire need of help, as Rodier had the {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}.

Neither the {6-Spades} turn nor the {8-Hearts} changed the outcome of the hand and Fechter apologized to his fellow PMU online qualifier.

Run Like Reard

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

"Nothing special yet, only one hand lost with aces versus kings and jacks where I picked up a small side pot." One would think that Alexandre Reard would be talking about an average stack, but the Frenchman is in fact around four times the starting stack already after the first half of day 1b.

Danzer's Day is Done

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
George Danzer
George Danzer

Triple World Series of Poker Bracelet winner George Danzer has been eliminated. He moved all in after a flop of {Q-} {10-} {7-} with {J-} {9-} for the open ended straight draw and Henry Szmelcer looked him up with {A-} {Q-} for top pair. A {9-} on the turn gave Danzer little hope, but the {4-} river was a brick.
