Big Double Up for Sfez

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Jerome Sgorrano, seated in early position, raised to 7,000 and Eric Sfez next to him three-bet to 26,000. Action was on Julien Lemperiere and he asked how much Sfez had behind. He then prepared a four-bet of around 75,000 but he didn't put in all the raising chips at once, so it was ruled a raise to 50,000. Sgorrano folded, Sfez called.

Both of them checked the flop of {8-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and the {3-Spades} hit the turn. Sfez bet out 37,000, leaving himself 31,100 behind. Lemperiere called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board and Sfez shoved. Lemperiere wasn't overly excited but did call. Sfez showed {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top set, Lemperiere open mucked his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Lemperiere still has 317000 left.

Play Has Tightened Up

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

With 62 players remaining (and 45 making the money), it looks like players are already glancing at the clock to see how fast things are going. Play has tightened considerably, not much is happening at the moment.

Ace on the River

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Barny Boatman had a tremendously good start today, tripling his short stack in the first hand. The rest of the day wasn't as prosperous, though. After losing some smaller pot he was reverted back to the role of short stack.

Just now he busted. We missed what happened, but railbird Roberto Romanello (who didn't play because tomorrow it's his birthday and he's spending that with family) told us he had gotten it in with {10-}{10-} against {A-}{9-}. An ace on the river eliminated Boatman.

Dunst Doubles

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

From early position, Tony Dunst, with a total stack of 40,000, raised to 8,000. Action folded to Mouad Benharmach in the small blind and he pushed all in. Big blind Natalia Breviglieri, also short, folded. Dunst called instantly.

Tony Dunst: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Mouad Benharmach: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Dunst doubled.

Natalia Breviglieri Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Natalia Breviglieri
Natalia Breviglieri

Natalia Breviglieri was short for quite some time and just found her Waterloo in a hand against Dimitri Sukhorukov. The two had tangled before, but this time it was all pre-flop action there was to it.

Action folded to Breviglieri on the button and she moved in for 38,000. Sukhorukov, seated in the small blind, thought about it for a bit before calling. Big blind Tony Dunst folded immediately.

Natalia Breviglieri: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}
Dimitri Sukhorukov: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}

What started out as a fair battle, wasn't so even after the {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop.

The {8-Hearts} on the turn gave Breviglieri some outs but the {10-Spades} on the river was a blank and Breviglieri made her exit in 57th place.
