The Rapid Bustouts

Usually in tournaments, as soon as the money bubble bursts, there's a series of quick bustouts. Smaller stacks who had been hanging on hoping to squeak into the money make moves. Since play ended last night just as the bubble broke, the first few moments of this level should have several eliminations.

Bright Lights of L.A.

The WPT second camera unit is shooting B-roll footage of the final six tables. The camera has a light attached and several players have complained about the shiny bright light in their faces. When a player comlained, one of the floor people joked, "Where are your sunglasses?"

The Best? (Kristy Gazes)

Who is the best female poker player today? Well the usual suspects are always named: Kathy Liebert, Cyndy Violette, Jennifer Harmon. But if you ask who is the best player TODAY, then we think you have to give the nod to Kristy Gazes.

Going for her sixth straight big event cash, including the Final Table at Aussie Millions last month; Kristy is definitely on a roll.

Yesterday, she was playing well and then hit a rough spot that she blames on: "Me, just me; what was I thinking." But like all truly great players, she slowed down, did not go on tilt and with some great support on the rail, stopped the skid and has built her stack back up to $339,00 to start Day Four in the top third of the field.
