Cazals And El Sayed Clash

Aubin Cazals
Aubin Cazals

Sam El Sayed and Aubin Cazals are seated directly next to each other and it will not be long before they are involved in a huge pot; mark our words!

They just clashed over on Table 4 when Cazals opened from the cutoff to 500. El Sayed three-bet from the button to 1,525 and Cazals made the call. The pair shared a {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop and both players checked. The turn was the {q-Hearts} and again both players checked, which is exactly what happened when the {9-Spades} fell on the river.

Cazals revealed his {8-Clubs}{6-Spades} whilst El Sayed took down the pot with his {A-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Pantaleo Caught Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Giuseppe Pantaleo is a player who can show up with any two cards at any time but none of his table mates expected to see his holding in the hand that just took place over on Table 2.

Pantaleo was under the gun and he opened to 500 and was the only caller when Joseph El Khoury — to Pantaleo's immediate left — three-bet to 1,200. Pantaleo then check-called a 1,800 bet on a {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, then both players checked the {2-Clubs} turn.

The river was a second deuce, the {2-Spades} and now Pantaleo lead out with a bet of 1,950 but El Khoury made the call.

El Khoury tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} whilst Pantaleo cold only muster {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Ooops!

You're Fayad

Ghassan Fayad was not happy, he'd wanted to bet on an {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}{K-Hearts} flop but the dealer had thought the action had been checked around and put out a {4-Clubs} on the turn.

Fayad protested that he hadn't checked and tournament director Matt Savage came over and ruled that Fayad could bet, the {4-Clubs} would be shuffled back into the deck and could be potential river card. Fayad bet 3,250 and his opponent Shamil Malaev flat-called.

The {4-Clubs} was left exposed and instead the {6-Clubs} came out on the turn, Fayad bet 6,000 and Malaev again made the call. Now the {4-Clubs} was shuffled back into the deck but the river was the {10-Spades}.

Fayad shoved his remaining 17,000 in the middle and Malaev shrugged and made the call. Fayad showed {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a rivered two pair but Malaev flipped {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for flopped top two pair to eliminate him.

Malaev has about 67,000 now as a result.

Chouity Helps Himself To Multi-Way Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We joined the action on a {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop and saw Gaelle Baumann (big blind), Khalil Tawil (two to her left), Nicolas Chouity (to Tawil's direct left) and Turker Baloglu (button) all with 1,200 in chips in front of them.

The dealer burned a card and put out the {J-Clubs} turn, Baumann checked, Tawil checked, Chouity bet 2,525 and only Tawil decided to make the call making it heads-up to the {A-Spades} river.

Tawil checked again but Chouity did not slow down. Instead he bet 4,300 and Tawil mucked his hand.

Chouity re-entered the Main Event on Day 1b after busting out relatively early on yesterday's Day 1a.
