Gordon Roshambos Two More

Phil Gordon raises to 8,000 from middle position. Ryan Farrell makes it 26,000 on the button and is all in. Gordon calls with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Farrell has {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The board is {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the last of the Farrell clan is gone.

A few hands later, Gordon and a blue-hatted individual go all in on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Gordon has {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and Blue Hat Guy has {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The board flnishes with {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Mr. Blue Hat is out.

The Redraw of Doooooom

At 45 players, the tournament directors have decided to redraw, though the money isn't until 36. Whether bad luck or good luck, the top three players in chips end up at the same table: Phil Gordon, Lou Esposito and Paula Holder.

Esposito Exasperated

On a board of {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, Lou Esposito bets 10,000 in the five spot. Phil Gordon makes it 40,000 total and Esposito folds.

Then, Esposito calls a very short stack's all in and shows {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} to the fellow's {5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}. Gordon calls "Six!" "Six" as the cards come, and they are {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Sure enough, Gordon's treatise comes true, and the red-shirted, cowboy hatted man to Esposito's left doubles up. He's still way short.

Maybe He Did?

The board is complete at K-10-4-6-7 with a multitude of suits. Bobby Wisiak puts his opponent all in. That player tanks for a couple minutes and Wisiak calls the clock.

"He doesn't want me to call," the opponent says, and does. Wisiak turns {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the nut straight and his opponent walks away.

This Is a Roberie

Shaun Roberie bets 9,000 and J.D. Estillette thinks for a really long time before raising to 19,000. Roberie goes all in and Estillette insta-calls. Estillette shows {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Roberie has {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The board is {6-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Roberie has been committed.

The Ruttley: All You Need is Cash

Brandon Ruttley takes {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to the finish line against {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} on a {J-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} board. The turned flush doubles him up and eliminates a player.
We are at 39 players. The cash is 36, so we have a couple more to go before we hit hand for hand and that magic first payout.

Phil Gordon Laps Opponents

The player in seat 6 bets 8500 and three other players call including Brandon Ruttley and Phil Gordon. The flop is {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and one player checks. Ruttley makes it 30,000 and Gordon goes all in. Ruttley tanks for several minutes.
"Set?" Ruttley says.
"My pair is no good?" he tries.
Gordon is stone cold silent.

The floor is called, but before they reach the table Ruttley makes the call. He has {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} for the overpair, but Gordon has {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a set of fours. The rest is {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Ruttley storms away.

Gordon has twice as many chips as his nearest competitor.
