Of the 99 entrants in this event, there is but one female. Her name is Lou Merwick and she is from Lincoln, Nebraska. Merwick is calm and confident and for good reason. She won not one, but two seats into this event via satellite. When asked about the other seat, Merwick smiled and said, "I gave it to my son."
