with just about 10,000 already in the pot.

Action is on Gazes, and he checks. Pilgrim bets out 7,000, and Gazes elects to put in a check-raise, making it a total of 17,000 to play. This sends Pilgrim deep into the tank as he double-checks his cards and eyeballs his own chip stack.

"I'm sure I got you right now, bro," he says after a minute. After another minute more he adds, "But not enough to make a move," sliding his cards into the muck.

Gazes taps the felt with his cards and nods at his opponent. "That was a very good card for me," he says quietly. As the dealer pushes him the pot, Gazes opens up his hand, revealing {K-Clubs}

, having the board crushed.

After taking down that pot, Gazes has worked his way up to about 65,000, nearly double what he had when he arrived at the featured table.
