Heredia Climbing Strong

Gissel Heredia is one of the few women left in the Main Event and has been rather quiet all day long. Just lately, she's picked up a few nice pots to storm up the leaderboard.

On the first hand, Heredia called a raise from Dave Tiffenberg of 3,000 preflop. Tiffenberg was in middle position with Heredia in the hijack seat. The flop came down {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} and Tiffenberg continued his aggression with a bet of 5,000. Heredia min-raised to 10,000 and took down the pot.

A couple of hands later, Heredia saw a flop with Manny Minaya and Dave Tiffenberg. The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} and all three players checked. The turn brought the {8-Spades} and Minaya checked in first position. Tiffenberg fired out 5,000 into the pot of about 9,000 chips. Heredia made the call and Minaya folded.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and both players checked rather quickly. Tiffenberg revealed pocket jacks, but Heredia paired up with {A-Spades} {2-Spades} to take down the pot.

Heredia is now up to 120,000 chips and one of the few people over 100,000 so far today.
