By the Numbers

Registration has closed following the first break, and the final numbers have been tallied.

One hundred sixty-seven players have entered the Championship Event, and 18 of them will earn a payday tomorrow. The bottom level of cash is worth $13,982, and it goes up pretty quickly from there. Each of the nine final tablists will take home at least $21,971. The lucky man or woman who manages to outlast the entire field will pocket $211,722, a shiny gold-inlaid diamond ring, and a ticket to the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
