McNiff's Hat a Topic of Conversation

Evan McNiff and his fancy hat

Class clown Corwin Cole was just broken from our favorite table, and his seat was soon filled by Jason Young, who was unaware of what he was walking into.

Evan McNiff (who is at least 12 vodka and red bulls deep) started things off. "You look serious. You don't look like you're having fun." Young mumbled something and shrugged, in a bit of a sour mood after the woes of the last level. With two hands, McNiff illustrated Young's dilemma. "Up here, fun. Down here, money."

One again Young mumbled something inaudible. After a moment, he added. "It all depends on your chip stack. Right now, my chip stack is just right for drinking and making fun of your hat."

Indeed, 4,900 chips is the correct amount for making fun of McNiff's hat. The only saving grace for the outgoing hat wearer is that it belongs to someone else. In fact, it belongs to Frederick Halling, who has long since made his exit from the tournament. Hopefully, the ungainly head covering will bring better luck to McNiff.
