Sands Wins Some, Loses Some

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dave Sands
Dave Sands

In early position, Dave "Doc" Sands raised to 850 to open the pot. A couple seats over, Drew Milstein tried to three-bet shove for 3,475, but he only put his three orange chips out first, and the dealer made him save the other 475 due to the string bet. Next door to him, a third player moved all in for 19,600, and action came back around to Sands. He took his time to make sure before calling and turning up {K-Spades} {K-Clubs}. There was still action pending on Milstein's string bet, however, but even at the sight of Sands' kings he had little decision to make with his {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}; he called all in, and the third player tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} to put a big pot up for grabs.

Board: {9-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

"Queen!" Milstein yelled on the river, as surprised as anyone to have hit his two-outer. Two outs is plenty to triple up this time, and Milstein is back to respectability with more than 10,000 chips. Sands takes the side pot, and he's trended his way up to about 37,250 now.
