Brikis Bakes a Double

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We just caught the tail end of the pot, but it's changed the game for Josh Brikis.

It was a board of {3-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, and it looked like the action went check-check on the turn, though we're not positive. In any event, the river saw David Baker check, and Brikis bet 5,300 into a pot of just more than that. Baker craned his neck to eye up Brikis' remaining stack (7,800 behind) before check-raising big. Brikis dumped his last chips into the pot, and Baker tabled {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs} for the trip nines. Brikis had that beat; he turned up {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} for the nut trips, and he's found a double up back over starting stack. He's at about 32,000 now, as he and Baker essentially trade stacks.
