Day 1 Chip Leader Hits the Rail

Mike Linster opened to 16,000 and was called by Gabriel Frank in the small blind. Aaron Overton, fresh off his set over set loss to Rex Clinkscales moved all in from the big blind. Linster snap called and Frank mucked his hand.

Linster: {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Overton: {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board came {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Spades} and Linster's king high was enough to send Overton home in 24th place.

The Power of King-Ten

Action folded around to John Mitchell in the small blind who moved all in. In the big blind, Sai Wang replied by saying "If I have king-ten or better, I'm calling." Wang peeked at his cards, announced a call and turned up {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. He was racing against Mitchell's {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Wang jumped into the lead when the flop came {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and sustained his lead all the way through the {2-Spades} turn and the {K-Clubs} river.

Mascagni is a Magnet for Aces

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

While dealing, the dealer accidentally flipped up the {A-Clubs} that would have been Cory Mascagni's. After the dealer apologized and continued dealing, Mascagni limped in the pot. Gabriel Frank raised to 21,000 and it folded back around to Mascagni who instantly moved all in.

"I have to fold," remarked Frank, folding {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} face up. Mascagni laughed and showed the table {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and scooped the pot.

Frank busted from the tournament a few hands later.

Mascagni Running Hot

Cory Mascagni opened the action with a raise and Tuan Phan responded by moving all in. When it folded back around to Mascagni he stood up and snap called, slapping his {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} on the table. Phan's head dropped and he meekly tabled {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Mascagni's lead never faltered as the board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Mascagni was able to score yet another key pot and cripple one of the table's most aggressive players.

"Yee-haw! Boom, baby!"

A short stacked Tuan Phan opened the action with a shove and was called by Rex Clinkscales. Clinkscales flipped over {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} but was behind the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} of Phan.

Clinkscales took the lead on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop but Phan nailed one of his outs on the turn when the {K-Diamonds} struck. The {7-Clubs} completed the board and Phan was able to score a double up. When he scooped his chips all he could say was "Yee-haw! Boom, baby!"
