Cartwright Slow Rolled Outta Here

With about 2,000 in the pot and a board reading {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Spades}, a player in middle position lead out for 1,000 and was raised to 4,000 by Kyle Cartwright, who if you recall won an astounding three WSOP-Circuit rings last season. The player in the small blind made the call, as did the middle-position players, and it was three handed to the {3-Hearts} turn.

The small blind checked, MP bet 5,000, and Cartwright moved all in for 5,800. The small blind tank-folded, while MP asked for a count. He then called the paltry sum, watched as Cartwright revealed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}, and waited about five seconds before showing {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. It was a bit of a slow roll and Cartwright wasn't too pleased. An ace on the river could still give him the win, but it was not meant to be as the {6-Spades} peeled off.

Cartwright gathered his things and made a quick exit from the tournament floor, but not before informing us that he'd be back for Day 1b; after all, he had won two seats in satellites!
