An Unfortunate Series of Events

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

We didn't see the action in question but we were there before a floorman was called. Michael Hug was seated in the eight seat and put out a preflop raise and action passed around the table. Rex Clinkscales was in the six seat and went to toss his cards in the muck. Somehow his cards ricocheted off his other hand and fell directly on top of Hug's unprotected cards.

Clinkscales apologized and then told Hug his hand was dead. Half the table agreed and half disagreed and the floor was called.

As soon as the floor approached Clinkscales retrieved his cards and re-enacted the action. The floorman declared Hug's hand as dead and his raising chips were to remain in the pot. Hug was obviously distressed by the decision and took a few moments away from the table.
