Jimmy Born is Day 1b chipleader.
Jimmy Born is Day 1b chipleader.

Day 1b of the WSOPC Harrah's Atlantic City Main Event came to a close after nine levels of play and 261 entrants. The combined field of 602 players crushed the number of entrants in last year's Main Event - 352. When all the chips were bagged and tagged Jimmy Born stands as the chipleader with 113,000.

It was mostly a day of redemption for players that were on their second buy in. Matt Keikoan (47,300), Chris Tryba (45,000), Chad Brown (57,100), Mike Beasley (34,100) and Drazen Ilich (30,000) were some of the notables that busted in the first flight but were able to make it through to Day 2.

Joining them for Day 2 are Eugene Todd (25,000), Roland Isra, David Fox (23,000) and Jamie Kerstetter (50,000). Those that didn't survive the day are Ronald Lee, Beth Shak, Rex Clinkscales, Joanne Monteavaro and Kenny Nguyen.

Both Day 1 fields will combine at noon tomorrow and play 14 levels or to a final table of nine, whichever comes first. Follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com
