Erickson Clubs Halaska, Doubles First Hand

On the very first hand, Troy Erickson open-shoved from under the gun, and the action folded all the way to Jeremy Halaska, who immediately called in the big blind.

Showdown

Erickson{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Halaska{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop gave Erickson a club flush draw. The turn was black, but the {8-Spades} changed nothing for Erickson. Only a ten or a club would save him from elimination.

The other black eight - the {8-Clubs} - spiked on the river, doubling Erickson to over 500,000 chips.

Erickson Doubles Through Higgins

Troy Erickson opened to 120,000 and Ryan Higgins bumped it up to 300,000 behind him. The blinds released after some thought and Erickson moved all in. Higgins called and the hands were turned up.

Higgins: {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}
Erickson: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}

The board ran {8-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} and Erickson took a page out Barry Greenstein's book and caught his ace on the river to stay alive.

Fouksman Wins One from Halaska

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded to Eugene Fouksman, who opened to 65,000 on the button. Jeremy Halaska defended his big blind, and the flop fell {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Halaska led out for 80,000, and Fouksman called.

Both players checked after the {7-Spades} turned, and the {6-Spades} completed the board. Halaska led for what looked like 130,000, and Fouksman immediately called. Halaska turned over {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for ace-high, and Fouksman showed {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of queens.
