Kenny Milam, we'll be seeing him at the 7pm flight.

Kenny Milam was just leaving the tournament floor after busting. He told us he flopped an open-ended straight draw that never hit and his opponent had top pair.

No Moore to be Had; Gaubert Out

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante
Charles Moore
Charles Moore

A short-stacked Charles "Woody" Moore shoved all in under the gun for his last 1,725 and received a call from the player in the small blind. Moore tabled {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} but needed to improve against his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Unfortunately for Moore, who has locked up enough points for this year's National Championship, the board ran out {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he was sent to the rail.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Gaubert has also been eliminated after his {9-}{9-} lost to {A-}{J-} after an ace spiked on the river.

Dolan Up to 80K

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We're not sure of all the action, but we do know that former November Niner John Dolan just chipped up to 80K after an unknown player in middle position got his stack of 20,000 in the pot with {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} on a board reading {7-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Dolan snap-called and tabled {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the nuts, and an inconsequential {9-Hearts} on the river saw Dolan take down the massive pot, making him one of the chip leaders here on Day 1a.

Small Bug in the System

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We've encountered a small bug in our system today. Normally, we like to do chip count posts where players' names and counts will be displayed in the blog. It's not working properly today so all our counts are being entered in the chip counts page.

Level: 8

Blinds: 300/600

Time to Quiet the Dogs

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Our dogs have been barking having to trek back and forth between the tournament room and the auxiliary tables located outside the poker room. At long last we've got all our players in the tournament room.

Chang in Control

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Matt Chang - your new chipleader.
Matt Chang - your new chipleader.

Matt Chang just leaped to the top of the counts after winning a three-way pot. He held pocket aces and was up against pocket eights and pocket sevens. The board ran dry and Chang's aces held, putting him within flirting distance of 90,000.

Big Stack Alert

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

We've scoured the upper stage area of the tournament floor and discovered some pretty big stacks. They include:

Bobby Toye (95,000)
Johnny Landreth (92,000)
Terry Kim (82,000)
James Arruebarrena (72,000)
