We're Back

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

The players are back in their seats, and the cards are now in the air. The plan is to play three more 40 minutes levels before the next break. After that, we switch to 60 minute levels, and after two of those, we break for dinner.

Kehrer Collects Thanks to Case Jack

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

In one of the first hands in Level 13, an all-in situation arose between Carl Kehrer and a shorter-stacked opponent. The flop had come {7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Kehrer had {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, but his opponent was ahead with {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The turn brought the {Q-Spades}, and Kehrer was still behind. Then came the river… the {J-Spades}! The table let out a collective "ooohhhh" at the sight of the last jack in the deck.

Kehrer collected the chips, and another player hits the rail as the field shrinks below 200.

Ting Thriving Today

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Ting Ho was about thirty minutes late to today's play after not getting a wake up call from her hotel as she had expected. Desipte the unfortunate mishap, she was in good spirits when she arrived, telling us, "I believe everything happens for a reason. If I showed up on time maybe I get coolered and I'm out early."

Well she just might be right. Ho has been chipping up all day, and she is now one of our big stacks with 130,000.

Baumstein Pushes Ting Out

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Action folded around to the player on the button, and he raised it up to 3,500. Scott Baumstein made it 8,800 out of the small blind, and Ting Ho was in the big blind. She thought for about 30 seconds before tossing in the call, a few chips at a time. The button folded, and Baumstein and Ho went to the flop.

That flop came down {q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}, and Baumstein checked after about 30 seconds of tanking. Ho slowly assembled a bet together, and slid 11,000 into the middle. Baumstein took only about ten seconds before stacking all of his big chips in a tower and sliding them forward, a bet of around 40,000. Baumstein had only 3,000 behind, so he was essentially moving all in. Ho tanked for about 20 seconds before releasing her hand, and tapping the table.

Ho dropped to 90,000 after the hand, while Baumstein jumped up to 66,000.

Jamshidi-Frangos Tangle

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Sirous Jamshidi opened for 3,700 from middle position, then Nick Frangos quickly raised to 8,700 from a couple of seats over. It folded back around to Jamshidi who tossed out a gray (5,000) chip to call.

The flop brought three face cards, coming {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Jamshidi checked, and Frangos again acted without hesitation by firing a bet of 4,000. Jamshidi leaned forward and asked how much Frangos had left, and his opponent held up his hands to reveal his stacks totaling a little less than 30,000.

Jamshidi considered a few more moments, then tossed his hand. Both players continue to battle with below average stacks.
