Here's something you don't see everyday. Or hardly ever in a lifetime for that matter. We came to the table to see that Peter Mavro and Shawn Daniels were heads up on a completed board of . There was about 13,000 in the middle, and Mavro assembled a big bet of 12,500, and threw it in. Daniels didn't take long to pay him off.
"I have quads again," Mavro said. Daniels had a dumbfounded look on his face, and could only say "ok" as he mucked his cards. After the hand, we were informed that on the hand just before that, Mavro busted Mike Souza with quad queens, meaning he got quads on back-to-back hands!
We struggled to find a concrete answers on what the odds are of that happening, but it sounds like it's in the area of 365,000 to 1 that it happens. Well we just saw it so it is possible!

Poker can be a game full of roller coasters, and that was no better on display then in a hand that we just saw Phong "Turbo" Nguyen in.
The player under the gun open shoved all in for his last 15,400, and it folded around to Nguyen on the button. He announced, call, and the blinds got out of the way.
Nguyen:
Opponent:
"A fair fight," said Nguyen, correctly pointing out that they were in a 50-50 race. Well Nguyen shot out in front when the flop came down . Nguyen would just need to fade two outs now, but that didn't happen, as the came on the turn. Nguyen could still pair up again to get a full house, but the didn't do that.
Despite that hit, it's been a good few levels for Nguyen, as he is still sitting on 65,000.

Dwyte Pilgrim raised it up to 2,600 in early position, and a middle position opponent moved all in for about 20,000. It folded around to Pilgrim, and he took some time to think. He asked "will you show if I fold?" His opponent said no, and after that, Pligrim took little time to call.
Pligrim:
Opponent:
"I had to see what he was shoving with," Pilgrim happily said when he saw that it was a coin flip. However, he wasn't so happy after the dealer fanned out an flop. Pilgrim would need to spike a two outer, and while he didn't on the turn, the did give him some diamond draw outs. However, the gave his opponent an unnecesary boat, and Pilgrim shipped most of his stack over.
After that hand, Pilgrim is in critical shape, with just 11,000 in chips.

Defending Champion Joseph Kuether has not really been able to get anything going today. He's never been a short stack, but he's also not been able to chip up either. Well it looks like something might be clicking for Kuether now, as he's closing in on 50,000.
We caught up with the action on Kuether's latest hand with him heads up on a board that read . Both players checked it, and the river was the . Kuether's opponent was first to act, and with about 13,000 in the middle, he tossed out a small bet of 4,000. Kuether quickly called, and his opponent tabled for a busted straight.
Kuether turned over , and that was good enough to take down the pot. After that hand, our champ has 48,000.
