Day 1b Completed
And that’s a wrap for Day 1b! It was an exciting, action packed Saturday as 175 players piled into the poker room today to take their shot at the Rincon Main Event Title. Of those 175 players, only 25 remain, and they are led by Lynda Tran. She bagged up 331,000 chips to end the night, which amazingly, is just two antes more than the 330,000 that David Randall, the Day 1a chip leader, bagged up. She is followed by former November Niner Soi Nguyen, who ends the night with 298,000.
Tran got that big stack by winning a huge hand in Level 16. Action started with the player under the gun moving all in for 32,000. Arthur Hahn was next to act, and he quickly moved all in for over 225,000! Action folded to Tran, and she peaked down at her cards. She didn't fold them immediately, and it was very clear she had a big hand.
"You got aces?" Tran asked Hahn. "I can't tell you," he replied. Tran wanted to know how much Hahn had, and he replied "I got you covered honey. I got the whole room covered!" After about three minutes of tanking, Hahn said "I never called the clock on anyone ever," as if to hint for another player at the table to do so.
After about five minutes of tanking, Tran tossed in some chips, and said "Call!". The rest of the table folded, and the three players tabled their cards.

Several big names came and went in today’s action. There will be a new champion here at Rincon, as Joseph Kuether bowed out in Level 16 when his ran into another players aces. In addition to Kuether, we also lost Matt Affleck, Alex Masek, Dwyte Pilgrim, Kathy Liebert, and Matt Slasburg.
Despite losing all those pros, we still have a few who will be coming back with us tomorrow. Former bracelet winner David Singontiko is still alive with 46,500, as well as Chad Brown (59,000), Shawn Daniels (78,000), and Tripp Kirk (171,000).
We are down to our final 43 players, as the 25 from today will meet up with the 18 from yesterday. Those players will come back tomorrow at noon to play down to a final table. We will see you tomorrow! Thanks for staying tuned to Pokernews, and good night!
Here is the list of the 25 players still alive and the total they put on their bags.

We have reached the ten minute mark on the clock, and that means it's time to start wrapping things up. Because they played five hands yesterday, that will be the plan for today as well. Once those hands are done, we will wrap up for the night!
Shawn Daniels opened up the action in late position to 6,500, and David Singontiko called from the button. The big blind also tagged along, and the three saw the dealer fan out a flop. It checked through, and the turn brought the
.
The big blind led out for 11,000, and while Daniels got out of the way, Singontiko tagged along to see the river. That card was the , and the big blind checked. Singontiko saw the opportunity to bet, and he put out 23,100. His opponent immediately looked pained by the decision, and he tanked for about a minute before sliding in the call.
Singontiko sheepishly said "I have a four," and his opponent opened up for a flopped pair that made a flush on the river. After that hand, Singontiko is getting low, sitting on just 37,000.

Lynda Tran has been holding court as the chip leader since that massive pot in the last level, but Loni Hardwood has shown that she's not afraid to tangle with the big stack. Tran raised it up to 6,500, and Harwood three-bet from late position to 16,500. It folded back around to Tran, and she made the call.
The two saw a flop of . Tran checked to Harwood, who fired out a c-bet of 17,500. Tran tanked for about 20 seconds before grabbing some pink T5,000 chips, and min-raising it to 35,000. Harwood took about 10 seconds before she moved all in for around 125,000, and Tran folded after half a minute of thought.
Tran was knocked down to 350,000 as a result, while Harwood shot up to 190,000.

Wow. Allan Le has been a fixture at the top of our leader board for the entire day, but we just saw him lose a giant race that cost him his tournament life.
Le made a raise to 5,000, and Kwinsee Tran three-bet it to 15,300. Action folded back around to Le, and he assembled a four bet of 28,200, and slid it into the middle. Tran tanked for about a minute before moving all in, and Le peaked back at his cards one more time before tossing in the call, making for a 160,000 pot.

, and he would need to dodge six outs on the river.
River:
Straight out of Barry Greenstein's book, the ace of diamonds hit the river, pairing Tran and eliminating Le. Le let out an understandable groan of frustration after the river was dealt, and just like that, the young star is out.
Tran took down the pot, and boosted his stack to about 175,000 in the process.

The room is still recovering from a gigantic, ginormous, gargantuan pot here at the 1,200-2,400 blind level. The beneficiary of the pot was Lynda Tran, who is now up to 400,000 chips!

Joseph Kuether, the man who won this title back in March, has been eliminated with two levels to go in the night. Kuether got it all in preflop after a raising war holding . However, he was in horrible shape, as his opponent held
