Hahn Back Towards the Top

Arthur Hahn raised it up in middle position, and the button raised all in for 30,000. Hahn tanked for about two minutes, before saying "I'm all in", which was a call.

Hahn: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The flop was safe for Hahn, coming down {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The turn spiced things up, coming the {j-Diamonds}. Hahn now had to dodge an ace, king, or diamond, and he was able to do that, as the river brought the {q-Hearts}.

Hahn collected the bounty, and after that hand, he is back up to 195,000.

Last Break of the Night

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The players have plowed through 15 levels of play, and they are on their last break of the night. When they return, they will play two 1-hour levels, before bagging their chips up for the night.

Level: 16

Blinds: 1,200/2,400

Ante: 400

Action Packed Level

Level 16 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We have just had three gigantic pots happen within a few minutes of each other, so make sure you don't go anywhere. We have a new chip leader who has over 400,000!

There Will Be A New Champion

Joseph Kuether, the man who won this title back in March, has been eliminated with two levels to go in the night. Kuether got it all in preflop after a raising war holding {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. However, he was in horrible shape, as his opponent held {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. The board brought no miracles for Kuether, running out {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Kuether made a valiant run at it today, but he will not be back for Day 2 tomorrow.

Tran Wins Biggest Pot of Tournament

The room is still recovering from a gigantic, ginormous, gargantuan pot here at the 1,200-2,400 blind level. The beneficiary of the pot was Lynda Tran, who is now up to 400,000 chips!

Action started with the player under the gun moving all in for 32,000. Arthur Hahn was next to act, and he quickly moved all in for over 225,000! Action folded to Tran, and she peaked down at her cards. She didn't fold them immediately, and it was very clear she had a big hand.

"You got aces?" Tran asked Hahn. "I can't tell you," he replied. Tran wanted to know how much Hahn had, and he replied "I got you covered honey. I got the whole room covered!" After about three minutes of tanking, Hahn said "I never called the clock on anyone ever," as if to hint for another player at the table to do so.

After about five minutes of tanking, Tran tossed in some chips, and said "Call!". The rest of the table folded, and the three players tabled their cards.

Tran: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Hahn: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Tran made the right call with the kings, and she stayed out in front as the board ran down {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Tran eliminated the all in player, and also collected the double up to run her stack all the way up to 405,000!

Le Loses Massive Race...Out

Wow. Allan Le has been a fixture at the top of our leader board for the entire day, but we just saw him lose a giant race that cost him his tournament life.

Le made a raise to 5,000, and Kwinsee Tran three-bet it to 15,300. Action folded back around to Le, and he assembled a four bet of 28,200, and slid it into the middle. Tran tanked for about a minute before moving all in, and Le peaked back at his cards one more time before tossing in the call, making for a 160,000 pot.

Le: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Tran: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop was safe for Le, coming down {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}. Le stayed ahead on the turn as well, the {10-Diamonds}, and he would need to dodge six outs on the river.

River: {a-Diamonds}

Straight out of Barry Greenstein's book, the ace of diamonds hit the river, pairing Tran and eliminating Le. Le let out an understandable groan of frustration after the river was dealt, and just like that, the young star is out.

Tran took down the pot, and boosted his stack to about 175,000 in the process.

Harwood Wins Battle of the Ladies

Lynda Tran has been holding court as the chip leader since that massive pot in the last level, but Loni Hardwood has shown that she's not afraid to tangle with the big stack. Tran raised it up to 6,500, and Harwood three-bet from late position to 16,500. It folded back around to Tran, and she made the call.

The two saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Tran checked to Harwood, who fired out a c-bet of 17,500. Tran tanked for about 20 seconds before grabbing some pink T5,000 chips, and min-raising it to 35,000. Harwood took about 10 seconds before she moved all in for around 125,000, and Tran folded after half a minute of thought.

Tran was knocked down to 350,000 as a result, while Harwood shot up to 190,000.
