Another Big Stack and Another Bust

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

We recently reported that Jacob Bazeley was crippled when he ran his pocket jacks into pocket queens. Moments later, he was eliminated from the tournament.

Elsewhere in the room, Craig "Smitty" Smith has built his stack up to about 100,000.

Moneymaker Doubles Opponent

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We caught up to see a player move all in against Chris Moneymaker before the flop. While Moneymaker came to a decision, he lamented about previously folding kings. Eventually he decided to call only to find that kings was the exact hand he was up against.

Moneymaker: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board fell down {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Moneymaker was unable to improve his hand. He was forced to ship a solid chunk of his stack over to his opponent and is now hovering right around the starting stack of 20,000.

Conrad Gone

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We got to the table just in time to catch the aftermath of Chris Conrad's final hand in the tournament. He was all in before the flop with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. Another short-stacked player was also all in with {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. Both of those players were crushed by a third players {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

Conrad failed to improve and he was eliminated from play. Fortunately for Conrad, he can still revel in the fact that he won his first WSOP Circuit ring last night as well as over $23,000 in prize money.

Moneymaker Doubles

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We got to the table to find 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker all in and at risk for his last 20,200 before the flop against Sean Small. Moneymaker was holding {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and was looking for help against Small's {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Moneymaker found exactly the help that he needed when he paired his seven on the {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop. He now just needed to dodge a ten on the coming streets in order to secure his double up. The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and the river the {5-Diamonds}, allowing him to bring back his chips and then some. He's currently sitting on about 42,000.
