Break Time

Another three levels have been completed and the Day 1a field is on a short break. Maurice Hawkins is the new chip leader.

Day 1b is about halfway through Level 3.

A Few More Day 1b Players

We've spotted a few more players in the second flight.

Just Quads

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Tournament chip leader Bill Johnson was just relieved of about 30,000 of his stack. He was heads up against Jeff Meyers on a {5-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} flop. Johnson bet 5,000 and Meyers moved all in for just under 30,000.

Johnson called, tabled {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} but saw bad news when Meyers turned up {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. The board completed {7-Spades} {9-Spades} and Meyers' quads took the pot.

We just witnessed 2010 November Niner John Dolan pack up his belongings and head out of the tournament area. We're unsure if he's going to play the second flight but we'll let you know.

Daniel Lowery is always excited to see our cameras.
Daniel Lowery is always excited to see our cameras.

We haven't caught much action from Daniel Lowery thus far, but he's a consistent player on the circuit. We're hoping he makes as much noise on the felt as he does in photos.
