Day 2 has wrapped up of the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Bossier City Main Event. Play began with 140 hopefuls all eyeing Day 3 but only 11 players would survive. Leading the field is Jeff Gibralter with 1.569 million.

Just behind Gibralter are Jay Diaz (1.118m), Cliff Fisher (1.085m) and Pete Rios (1.047m). Rounding out the field is Abraham Araya, Jim Parker, Jesse Maupin, Mark Burford, Jeff Siler, Seneca Easley and Michael Sanders.

It’s worth noting that Araya, Burford and Sanders all made the final table of the 2012 WSOPC Choctaw Main Event final table together, with Araya taking home the win.

Howard “Tahoe” Andrew, “Captain” Tom Franklin, Charles “Woody” Moore, Caufman Talley, La Sengphet and Bradley Lipsey all earned a cash but fell short of making Day 3.

A long list of accomplished players were sent to rail today, including; Mark Kroon, Allen Kessler, Charles “Woody” Moore, Pej Niyati, Maurice Hawkins, “Captain” Tom Franklin, Kyle Cartwright, David Nicholson, Corey Burbick, Drew Dumanski and John Dolan.

Kroon was the bubble boy and lost all his chips in a tough spot. His elimination came on the second round of round-for-round play. He went to a {8-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} flop with Pete Rios and following a check-raise from Rios, Kroon moved all in. Rios called holding {8-Clubs} {2-Clubs} and Kroon held {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}. The turn cemented Kroon’s fate when it came {8-Spades}.

The bubble burst with just two minutes in the level before the dinner break. When the field returned from dinner action sped up to a ridiculous amount. Within the first couple hands nine players busted. The field was trimmed from 45 players to just 13 in five levels.

The beginning of the end for the overnight chip leader, Caufman Talley, came when he got into a kings vs. aces preflop showdown. Diaz’s aces held and Talley lost around 400,000. Talley never really recovered from the blow and bowed out in 18th place.

Day 3 will have cards in the air 12 p.m. CST and they will play down to a winner. Follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com.

Caufman Talley Eliminated in 18th Place ($6,986)

Caufman Talley eliminated in 18th place.

Caufman Talley's last hand wasn't much to write about, like most times in No Limit it was the second-to-last hand that cost him the tournament.

He got in a preflop all in showdown holding pocket sevens and Pete Rios woke up with queens on the button. The board ran {8-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {J-Clubs} and Talley only had Rios covered by about 50,000.

The very next hand Talley moved all in and ran into Jeff Siler's pocket aces. Talley couldn't crack them and was out of the tournament.

Ask and You Shall Recieve

Mark Kroon should go buy lottery tickets.
Mark Kroon should go buy lottery tickets.

Mark Kroon and another opponent got all in preflop and Kroon was ahead - but not by much.

Kroon: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}

Before the flop was even spread Kroon said, "Give me the {Q-Diamonds} and get it over with."

The flop came {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. The turn came {K-Spades} - giving his opponent the lead in the hand.

"Come on, give me the {Q-Diamonds}," Kroon pleaded again.

As fate would have it the dealer peeled of the {Q-Diamonds} on the river!

Kroon earned the knockout, looked up at us and said, "Now you can right a hand where I got in ahead."

The Silent Sengphet

La Sengphet has many more chips than pictured.
La Sengphet has many more chips than pictured.

La Sengphet is a well-known player on the Circuit. Away from the table she's one of the nicest people you'll come across, but at the tables she is a silent killer.

We haven't caught much action at her table today but she has silently amassed a 170,000 stack - more than 100,000 than she started the day with.

Andy Philachack stopped by our table on his way out of the tournament room. His story of demise started with Mark Burford opening the pot with a large raise and Philachack shoved. Burford called and the hands were tabled.

Philachack held {A-} {K-} and Burford held {A-} {Q-}. A queen fell on the turn and Philachack was eliminated.

Kyle Cartwright is gunning for his sixth WSOPC ring.

Following 14 hours of poker action, Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Bossier City Main Event is set to be underway with 130 returning players all eyeing one of the final nine seats. Leading them all is Caufman Talley (264,700) and he holds a near 60,000 chip lead over second place Bradley Lipsey (208,000).

A stacked field returns multiple WSOPC ring winners and notables, including; Charles Moore, Abraham Araya, Andy Philachck, David Nicholson, Corey Burbick, Seneca Easley, Kyle Cartwright, Mark Kroon, La Sengphet, Maurice Hawkins, Drew Dumanski and Allen Kessler.

Talley is looking to for back-to-back wins after winning Event #9 a couple days ago. Cartwright is looking to become the all-time WSOPC ring leader, holding five currently, and looking for back-to-back WSOPC Main Event rings - he won the IP Biloxi stop just a few weeks ago.

Nicholson is looking to defend his Main Event title that he won here just over a year ago. On his second bullet he maintained an average stack until the end of the night when he went on a heater, peaking at 140,000.

Today's schedule calls for 13 levels of play which should bring the field very close to the final table, if not past it. Cards will be in the air promptly at 12 p.m. CST and follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com.
