Tripp Kirk made it 2,400 from under the gun and received calls from the players in the cutoff and the big blind. The flop brought and the big blind checked. Kirk continued for 3,200 and both players quickly released their hands awarding Kirk the pot in the process.
Kirk rolled over for a diamond draw and a gutshot and took down the pot. He's sporting roughly 96,000 in chips.
We caught up to see Jared Jaffee heads up in a raised pot with a flop that read . Jaffee called his opponents continuation for 3,100 and the dealer produced a on fourth street.
Jaffee's opponent slowed down and he took this chance to shoot 5,700 into the middle. His opponent peeked down at his cards, back and the board, and then finally released. Jaffee grabbed the pot and is thriving early here with about 118,000 in chips.
We came to the table to see Harrison Gimbel and an opponent looking down at a completed board that read . Gimbel's opponent was facing a bet of 15,000 from the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event champion.
After a moment, Gimbel's opponent called and Gimbel rolled over . His opponent dejectedly threw over , showing that Gimbel had him outkicked. By scooping this pot, Gimbel has now boosted his stack to about 140,000.
Facing an open, Kenneth Hicks three-bet to 7,200 on the button. Zhen Cai cold four-bet to 15,000 from the big blind, and the action folded back to Hicks, who clicked in back, five-betting to 24,000.
Cai quickly grabbed a handful of red T5,000 chips, six-betting to 55,000, and Hicks quickly folded.
When we arrived at the table, the dealer was pulling in 15,000-chip bets from both Jonathan Bakhshian and Carl Pipitone. The board was , and the dealer rapped the table, then spiked the onto the felt.
Pipitone checked, and Bakshian moved all in for effectively 25,900. Pipitone went deep into the tank, and two minutes later he stood up.
"So sick," he blurted.
Another minute passed, and then a player called the clock.
"I hate to do it," he said. "But it's been three minutes."
The floor was called, and gave Pipitone one more minute to act. With just five seconds left in his time bank, Pipitone called.
"Good call," Bakhshian sighed.
Pipitone tabled for kings and tens, and was relieved that he wasn't counterfeited.
Action folded around to Natasha Barbour's button. She made it 3,200 to go and received calls from both the small and big blinds.
The dealer fanned a flop of and there were two checks back to Barbour. She fired 3,300 and the small blind stuck around. The big blind released and the dealer showed the remaining two a as the turn card. Once again the small blind checked and this time Barbour bet 4,300. Her opponent, however, cut into his stack and came out with a raise to what looked like 10,600. Barbour wasted little time calling.
The completed the board and Barbour's opponent moved out a large stack of t1,000 chips for an amount that we couldn't quite make out. Barbour did not even hesitate when dropping in calling chips. Her opponent showed for nothing but a busted flush draw. Barbour rolled over for a pair of sixes and it earned her a sizable pot. She's now sitting on about 125,000.
A total of 24 players entered the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Palm Beach Kennel Club Main Event here on Day 2, bringing the player pool to 670. The prize pool information should be available shortly.
