Moseley Slipping

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

James Kinney opened from 80,000 from the button and Jonathan Moseley called from the big blind. The flop came {6-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Moseley led for 105,000. Kinney called. The turn brought the {10-Spades} and another bet of 125,000 from Moseley, again called by Kinney.

The river went check-check following the appearance of the {9-Clubs}, and with a little exasperation Moseley said "ace-high." Kinney showed {K-Spades}{3-Spades} for kings, and with a head shake Moseley tossed his hand face downward to the dealer.

Moseley has been sliding of late, and now finds himself under a million and in eighth position out of eight.

All About the Ring...or the Bracelet

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

"Hey Raymond," Kory Kilpatrick piped up. "What are you going to do with the money when you win?"

"Put it in the bank," Weaver, 69, grunted.

"You're not going to buy anything nice?" Hugh Henderson asked. "A watch?"

"No," Weaver responded. "I just want the ring...or the bracelet. Whatever they have here."

"We'll split the money," Henderson shot back, motioning over to Kilpatrick. "You can have the ring."

Weaver didn't respond for a good 10 seconds, then finally, he broke his silence.

"Is that a proposal?"

Jonathan Moseley Eliminated in 8th Place ($29,981)

Jonathan Moseley - 8th Place
Jonathan Moseley - 8th Place

Down to his last 595,000, Jonathan Moseley open-raised all in from the cutoff seat, and when it folded to Raymond Weaver in the small blind he set out the calling chips. Hugh Henderson folded from the big blind, and the remaining players tabled their cards.

Weaver: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Moseley: {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades} to pair Weaver's ace, and after the {3-Spades} turn card the {J-Hearts} on the river was no matter. Moseley is out while chip leader Weaver is now up over 6 million as Level 29 nears its close.

Messing Around

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Play moves along at a slow pace here at the start of Level 30, with few flops seen thus far.

Just now Kory Kilpatrick opened with a raise to 100,000 from the button, and when it folded to James Kinney in the big blind he instantly tossed out some olive (25,000) chips to make it 200,000 to go. Kilpatrick hesitated just a moment, then folded, and Kinney chose to show his hand... {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

"Messing with my blind, sir," said Kinney with a grin. "I had much worse than that," cracked Kilpatrick in response.

Kinney Getting Active

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

James Kinney raised to 100,000 in middle position, Raymond Weaver called in the small blind, and Hugh Henderson defended in the big blind. The flop fell {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and all three players checked. The turn was the {q-Spades}, Weaver led out for 100,000, and both Henderson and Kinney called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, Weaver checked, and Henderson tossed out 135,000. Kinney called, and Weaver tanked for a bit before folding.

"Two pair," Henderson said.

"How high?" Kinney asked.

"Not very," Henderson returned, showing {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

"You play that crap?" Kinney chuckled, tabling {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

The two chopped the pot.

"I figured Raymond had a seven," Henderson joked.

A few hands later, Kinney opened to 100,000 from under the gun, Weaver called in the cutoff, and Henderson called on the button. Kinney led out for 225,000, and both players folded.

Kinney showed the {9-Diamonds}.

Henderson vs. the Defenderson

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

James Kinney continues to play fast, raising multiple times during the last orbit and gradually adding to his stack. He's also been routinely defending his blinds, as he did again just now after an opening raise from late position by Hugh Henderson and a call by George Zinaty in the small blind.

The flop came {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and after Zinaty checked, Kinney quickly fired 250,000. Henderson then raised to 500,000, and after a long time in the tank Zinaty let his hand go.

Kinney then folded quickly face up — {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} — and leaned forward with a sheepish grin as he saw Henderson show his hand, too — {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

"Only way I could win," said Kinney, still smiling, and Henderson nodded in agreement.
