Kirk Shelmerdine — race car driver and former crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Sr. — is back today after crashing prior to the end yesterday's Day 1a. And so far through the first half of Day 1b he's had it in high gear throughout.
We just saw him grab another small pot to add further to his stack. Shelmerdine has been collecting chips consistently all day to build what appears to be the first 100,000-plus chip stack in the room.
Kou Vang led out for 3,000 on a flop of , and Frank Aquino raised to 9,000. Vang tanked for quite some time before raising to 24,000, which was enough to put Aquino all in, and the Greenville, South Carolina native called.

In truth, all Vang needed was a club to eliminate Aquino. The turn brought the .

"Raise," Williamson announced the very moment Aldridge's orange T1,000 chips hit the felt.
Williamson made it 12,500 to go, and the action folded back to Aldridge.
"All in," the yellow-clad bracelet winner announced, making it 30,625.
Williamson made a crying call.

North Carolinian and Elon graduate Josh Cranfill has unfortunately been eliminated here on Day 1b of the World Series of Poker Circuit Cherokee Main Event.
According to tablemate Matt Chang, Cranfill was all in preflop for his last few thousand holding . An opponent called with , and despite flopping a wheel draw, Cranfill was unable to make a better hand.
We wish Cranfill the best of luck in his future endeavors, and look forward to seeing him again on the felt.
